Summer Reading
It's 80 degrees here in Georgia this week which means that I am already thinking of all things summer (although I am hopeful that we'll get to enjoy this pleasant spring weather for a while longer before the heat and humidity arrive!). One of my favorite summer activities is reading and while really I enjoy a good book any time of year, there is something about the hot, unstructured days of summer that just lend themselves to a big, fat stack of books! I spent a few minutes this afternoon requesting a few from the library:
The Things They Carried by Tim O'Brien
Simplicity Parenting by Kim John Payne
The Midwife by Jennifer Worth
Each of these were either recommended reads or looked interesting and have been on my to-read list for a while. They are all over the place in terms of topic, which I like. I also like borrowing them from the library because 1) they're free, 2) the library is 1 minute from my house, and 3) until I convince E to buy floor to ceiling bookshelves for his office...we are at capacity for book storage!
We are headed to Florida for a much needed family vacation in a few weeks. I am hopeful to log a few hours reading at the beach. Heaven!
