What's so funny?

Jack has a real knack for getting Miles to smile, but last night he took things up a notch by getting Miles to laugh for the first time! We were eating dinner and Jack was being a goofball at the table while Miles watched from his bouncy seat on the floor. All of a sudden, we heard Miles giggle and his whole little face was lit up. We enjoyed a repeat performance today at lunch and I was able to snap a picture. Luckily Jack is coming with us tomorrow when Miles gets his 3 month pictures taken- hopefully we will get another grin!

Happy Birthday Grandma Eleanor!

Yesterday was my Grandma Eleanor's 82nd birthday so I took Jack and Miles over to her house for a visit! The boys are lucky to have a great-grandma who lives close enough that they get to see her on a pretty regular basis. Jack has quickly learned that there are always special treats at Grandma Eleanor's house and yesterday didn't dissapoint. It's been in the 90's here (already!) so Jack enjoyed a celebratory ice cream cup- he enjoyed it down to the last bite! Miles enjoyed lots of time on Eleanor's lap- she has the magic touch with babies and he was out like a light in her arms. Here are a few pictures from our day:

Jack and Miles dressed up in their matching shirts (I figure that with 2 boys I only have a short window in which I'll be able to dress them alike so I'm taking advantage!)

Jack's New Wheels

One of the best things about our neighborhood is how many other little kids there are nearby. When we go outside, there is almost always someone for Jack to play with. In fact, on our court alone there are 5 other little boys between the ages of 2-9! So, it came as no surprise that Jack would want to keep up with the "big boys" he sees outside on a regular basis. As a result, he is now the proud owner of his first "2 wheeler"! He picked it out last weekend and after a few days of practice he is zipping all over the court on it. He asks to go outside to ride his "big boy bike" about 500 times a day...
Getting ready for his first ride (had to make sure his feet were on the pedals!)
And he's off...

Children's Discovery Museum

The boys and I headed to Fremont for a few days this week to visit with Grandma, Grandpa, and Aunty Julie while my mom is on spring break. One of the highlights of our trip was yesterday's visit to the Children's Discovery Museum in San Jose. We had originally planned to take the boys to the Little Farm at Tilden Park in Berkeley, but yesterday's windy weather prompted a change of plans! Luckily, the museum was an ideal "Plan B". Jack is at a great age to enjoy most of what the museum has to offer and sweet little Miles slept the entire time in his stroller- he is one mellow baby.

Jack the firefighter (this was his favorite spot at the museum- he returned here 3 more times during our visit)
Pretending to go for a ride in the ambulance!

Jack and I both thought the "Water Works" area was a lot of fun!

Now it's time to take the produce truck (at the "Farmer's Market" exhibit) for a spin

Jack loads up his farmer's market bag with lots of veggies- after his bag was full he got to weigh everything on a produce scale- he loved it!
One would have thought that after all this activity he would have taken a big nap...but no, we weren't quite that lucky- oh well!

Happy Easter!

Everyone says that the holidays are more fun when little ones are involved and that sentiment definitely rings true at our house. Easter this year was a lot of fun, especially now that Jack is old enough to be excited about the whole deal!

Believe it or not, this was the best picture I got of Jack and Miles! Jack is definitely at an age where he has no patience for pictures...

Welcome to our blog!

I am just getting started...but I hope you check back in to see what our busy boys are up to! In the meantime, here's a picture of Miles' first smile- captured about 2 weeks ago. He is growing quickly and smiling all the time now- but he saves his best smiles for his big brother Jack!
