Summertime Fun at Royer Park

The boys and I spent the morning playing at Royer Park in downtown Roseville. This is one of our favorite places to visit in the summer- the park has been around forever so there are mature shade trees throughout- perfect for our toasty summer days.
Jack and Miles are really starting to become playmates...they had so much fun chasing and running today!
Last summer, Miles lounged on a blanket during our trips to Royer Park. Now, he's off and running.
Jack could play with this sand rope and pully contraption all day.

Miles looks really long in the baby swing.

Jack and his front end loader are ready to slide.

Now's it's Miles' turn!

Jack is a great big brother and catches him at the bottom.

Sharing a snack.

Trips to the park this summer are a breeze with Jack, my #1 helper and swing pusher!

Finally...we see the sun!

Evan, Kathryn, and Greg joined us in Lake Tahoe for Memorial Day weekend and so did the sun!

Daddy teaches Miles how to bat.

The boys playing baseball.

Miles has his own batting technique.

Jack and Miles both got a kick out of playing inside this tree.

Evan made his delicious paella for Dad's birthday.

Everyone loved it- even the little boys!

Dinner was followed up by a few rounds of Trivial Pursuit.

These crowns from Kathryn and Greg were lots of fun...the boys still play with them here at home.

More Fun in the Snow

Here are a few more pictures of our snowy stay in Lake Tahoe...

Miles loved having Grandma read to him. He would bring her a book and then turn around and plop himself in her lap. I'm pretty sure she read this Animals book 237 times while we were in Tahoe!
Miles also worked on his driving skills while we were hanging out inside.

Jack wasn't about to let a little snow keep him from riding his bike. I wasn't either- that boy needs some time outside everyday.

Miles and Jack weren't the only ones who needed an afternoon nap...check out Grandma and Grandpa! Little boys will do that to you.

Memorial Day Weekend in Lake Tahoe

It's become an annual tradition for us to spend Memorial Day weekend in Lake Tahoe with my family, and it's a trip we all look forward to. Memorial Day weekend is supposed to be the kickoff to summer, but this year we were in for a bit of a surprise...SNOW! The boys and I actually joined my parents and sister Julie for the whole week in Tahoe this year, and we were treated to snow for the first few days. Tahoe is so pretty with a dusting of white and the weather really didn't slow us down. We took the boys out to play in the snow, curled up by the fireplace with books, and just enjoyed hanging out together. Aunty Julie helped Jack build all kinds of hot wheels race tracks and Grandma kept the boys busy with crafts and snacks.
Here are a few pictures of Miles' first snow...I have many more to post from our trip, coming soon!
