10 Years!

Happy 10th Anniversary to us! Sometimes it's hard to believe that it's already been TEN years...until I stop and realize that in those years we've:

* Moved 3 times, including this year's BIG move
* Bought 2 houses and sold 1
* Changed jobs a combined 5 times
* Welcomed 2 little boys to our family
* Said goodbye to Evan's mom
* Enjoyed traveling with trips to Seattle, Colorado, Florida, New York, Hawaii, and St. Martin

Our life looks very different than it did 10 years (hello minivan!) and I couldn't be happier with where we are today- we are very lucky.

Here are a few favorite pictures from our big day:

Taming the Jungle

Evan spent 4 evenings after work and a good part of a Saturday doing a major trim of our front yard shrubs and trees. It involved buying a tree trimming extension tool, taking out three small trees (I think the previous owners did some planting without fully taking into account how much things would grow in), and doing a ton of cutting back. Jack earned a few extra bucks hauling all of the trimmings to the wheelbarrow :) Best of all, now you can see the house!

This Week

Miles woke up Monday morning crying and announced "I'm sick!"...and he was. Luckily, it turned out to be just a cough and fever- ever since his bout of pneumonia in January the cough/fever combo brings a little extra worry. But this time around, he just needed a few days of lounging around at home and a lot of extra rest. By Friday, he was back to his happy, healthy self.

We kept busy inside with plenty of arts and crafts. Miles loves to watercolor so he made several masterpieces a day. We also worked on all sorts of glue and fun foam crafts from Grandma.

By day 3 of being home sick we needed a little fun. So we headed to the McDonalds drive-thru and brought lunch back home for a picnic in the family room. Miles thought a cheeseburger and a milkshake were just what the doctor ordered.
 By Friday, Miles was well again. Perfect timing, as Evan's dad and step-mom were set to arrive that evening and visit for the weekend. Miles picked out this collared shirt to wear because "Pop Pop will love it!" He then hopped on the atv and took Jack for a spin. Definitely feeling better!
