One Little Monkey Jumping Out of the Crib!

Someone in our house is ready for a big boy bed. Right. Now.
I know what we'll be shopping for this weekend!

Swinging like a monkey and cracking himself up!

Inside Fun

Winter has arrived, and although that means that we aren't always able to get outside and play, we are having lots of fun inside these days. I'm sure I'll have a change of heart come March...but right now I'm enjoying all the time spent inside reading books, doing messy art projects, watching a movie after dinner with popcorn, and best of all, seeing Jack and Miles entertain each other! Here are a few pictures of the boys from the last week:

The workbench continues to be a favorite toy. We now have enough hard hats and tools for an entire construction crew...

Busy fixing something

These Melissa and Doug blocks are one of my all time favorite toys. Jack got them from Grandma Eleanor for his first birthday and 3 1/2 years later they continue to be played with several times a week. Here is Jack with his completed masterpiece (the castle from Shrek).

I decided to be brave and let Miles paint at the easel for the first time. Needless to say, he LOVED it!

Of course, Jack had to show him how it's done.

What kid doesn't love to paint??!

Nana

Evan's mom Kathy, or Nana as she's known in our house, passed away on New Year's Day after a short fight against pancreatic cancer. She will be very missed! Just like all moms, she was the one who hosted the big holiday dinners, spoiled the grandchildren on their birthdays, shared funny stories about Evan as a little boy, and made sure that the whole family kept in close contact. We are grateful that we were able to spend as much time together as we did during the 3 months that she was sick and are comforted that she is now at peace.

Last February, we enjoyed a quick get-away to Napa with Nana. This is one of my favorite pictures...Jack's cheese face and all!
