2 Wheelin' It!

This morning we took off Jack's training wheels and I guess he was even more ready than we were, because after about 15 minutes of practicing with Evan he was doing this:

Proud of you Jack!!!

Jack's Preschool Harvest Party

This morning was Jack's preschool Harvest Party and we sure had one excited 4 year old on our hands! The kids got to wear their costumes and had quite the fun-filled day: games, cookie decorating, and treats and prizes galore. Right now, he's sleeping off all the fun (and sugar!).

Jack the fireman showing his buddies his costume.
Circle time

After school, we had lunch at home and Jack showed us all of his loot. He thought eating lunch with his bat hat on was very funny

Silly!

We are looking forward to more Halloween fun this weekend...and keeping our fingers crossed for dry skies come trick or treat time!

Bishops Pumpkin Patch

Last Saturday we took our annual family trip to Bishops Pumpkin Patch. It was a beautiful fall day and we had a great time picking pumpkins and just having fun together.

Evan and Jack feeding the goats- and laughing at how quickly the goat snatched the sugar cone full of apples out of their hand!
Next stop- the hay jump. This was the first year Miles was old enough to jump and he loved it!

On the hay ride out to the pumpkin fields (Jack's cheese face makes me laugh here!)
On the hunt for the perfect pumpkin (wait til you see which one he chose...)

Every time Miles would spot a big pumpkin he would point to it and say "Whoa!"

Jack's perfect pumpkin- yes, he wanted a green one!

Jack's Preschool Trike-A-Thon

Last month, Jack's preschool held a trike-a-thon to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Each kiddo got to bring their bike/trike/scooter to school and ride 5 laps around the playground. Miles and I got to cheer!

Lined up and ready for the ride

Jack's group is off!

Miles and his buddy Cameron cheering on their big brothers (in between eating pretzels!)

Where Have We Been?!?!

October already. Oh my. Life for our family has been very full lately. Since August we've celebrated my mom's 60th birthday and retirement in Maui, Jack has started preschool 3 mornings a week, we learned that a job transfer (out of state no less) may be on the horizon for Evan, and in light of that news we put the brakes on our plans to move to a larger home here in the area. Then, just a few weeks ago, Evan's mom was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and spending time supporting her has become our top priority. Evan has been working more hours than ever and the boys have a combined energy level that keeps me running! Needless to say, some days it seems like there is hardly time to catch our breath. But, we have also been up to some fun of course and that is what we'd like to share! First up, a few pictures from Maui. In retrospect 2 weeks in paradise likely gave us just the R&R we needed to manage the craziness that has been our life lately!

Happy 60th birthday Mom!
Our family ready to head to the luau!
Our boys quickly mastered the 1 cup/2 straws technique necessary when sharing a (virgin) strawberry daquiri
This is the life...

Plenty more to share...stay tuned.
