Today we invited 2 of Jack's neighborhood buddies over for a little Valentine's fun. First up: decorating cookies with frosting and sprinkles galore!
Jack's cookie decorating style? Heavy on the sprinkles!

A cookie baking kind of day...
Yesterday morning we woke up to gloomy gray skies and rain. Again. We have had quite a few days like this in the last month or so which makes keeping these boys entertained a wee bit challenging. Thankfully, we have discovered how much fun it is to bake...not to mention eating our finished product!

Superbowl Recap
Jack was very excited about the Superbowl. On Sunday he asked us about 50,000 times how much longer until the game was going to start. He made us promise him that once he woke up from his nap it would be Superbowl time. At 3:25 he had his "player shirt" on, got settled in his comfy chair with some goldfish, and was ready for game time:

Miles' 1st Birthday Party
Tonight we had some of our family over for pizza and cupcakes in honor of Miles' first birthday. Miles thought the best part of the party was ripping open presents and then playing with the wrapping paper! He also was enthusiastic about the "Happy Birthday" tune and the cupcake that followed.

Happy birthday to you!
One year ago today:
* He loves to laugh and clap and is happiest when getting into mischief or playing with his brother.
* He is the first to wake up in the morning. Sometimes he gets bored while his brother is sleeping in and crawls down the hall to sit outside Jack's door waiting for him to get up. He often helps things along by banging on the door!
* He is pretty fearless about some (dangerous) things: eating food and who-knows-what-else off the floor, climbing into the bathtub unassisted, "exploring" the electrical outlets, etc. but is scared of new faces and cries (hysterically) when sweet little grandma types try to talk to him at the store.
* He loves to eat and gives an enthusiastic "mmmm" when food is coming his way. If given the option he would choose string cheese for every meal.
* He loves to be outside. This week he got to play in the sandbox for the first time. He only ate a little sand.
* He is sleeping through the night.
* His favorite toys are books, legos, and the play kitchen. But really, anything that belongs to Jack will do!
* He loves to be silly.
*His favorite song is pat-a-cake. He claps just before we get to the "pat it" part.
*He is very loved!
Happy 1st birthday Miles!!!
