Back to School
Jack had fun at preschool summer camp back in June, but this week marked the "real" start of the school year. Evan took Monday off and the whole family dropped Jack off at school. Parents (and siblings) were invited to stay for the first 30 minutes, much to Miles' delight! Jack had a fun day, but boy was he tired when I picked him up at 12:15! It was all he could do to eat 1/2 a sandwich and some milk before nap time :)

Fun at the Lake
This has been one of our busiest summers to date! It has been one fun adventure after another, which doesn't leave much time for updating the 'ole blog! My reading public (Grandma and Grandpa mostly) have been demanding some new pictures so here goes...
We just spent 4 days at gorgeous Donner Lake with Evan's family and had a great mini-vacation. It has become a tradition to join Evan's mom Kathy and his sister Lise's family for a week at the lake in July. Jack loves spending time with his cousins and he is finally old enough to participate in all of the "kid" activities that the lake offers. This year we kept busy with swimming in the lake, playing at the beach, boating, fishing, jet-skiing, and grilling lots of yummy food. The house Kathy rented was beautiful and had it's own dock...needless to say, the kids were in vacation heaven. And, once they were asleep the adults enjoyed relaxing on the deck and taking in the view.
Visiting the West End beach is a favorite- Jack was in sand and truck heaven.
Miles was not at all intimidated by the chilly water temps!
Little boys + digging in the sand = FUN
My almost 4 year old boy
Swimming in the lake and playing at the beach makes for 2 very tired little boys. Hello 3 hour naps!
Learning how to fish with Daddy (they were so very cute in their fishing vests- thank you Grammy and Pop-Pop!)
Determined to reel one in...
And he did!
The dock was also a great place for kite flying.
I love being on vacation!
We spent one afternoon boating with Nana. After being very scared of the boat last year, Jack loved it this time around and begged to go faster. The next day he went jet-skiing with Evan. He is growing up.
Miles was a little unsure of the whole boating scene...
but was pretty happy in my lap.
Snow cones are a delicious way to end the day.
