Fall, We're Ready for You!
Our family had a good time coming up with our "Summer 2011 To-Do List" and I'm pleased to report that we've checked almost everything off. It was a fun way to make sure that we incorporated some of our family's favorite seasonal activities into our busy summer calendar and gave us lots of things to look forward to.
So, we decided to come up with a new list for fall. Maybe it's the never-ending 90 degree temperatures paired with all the ads for boots and pumpkin spice lattes, but I am oh-so-ready for the seasons to change. So, in the spirit of welcoming fall (or encouraging it to hurry up and cool down already!) here's our list of things we're aiming to do:
1) Take a family trip to Bishop's Pumpkin Patch (hay rides, apple cider, pumpkin picking, they've got it all!)
2) Bake chocolate chip cookies on the first cool day that comes our way
3) Have a family picture taken
4) Visit the Half Moon Bay pumpkin patch with Grandma and Grandpa followed by a picnic on the beach
5) Eat candycorn (Jack came up with this one!)
6) Enjoy lazy football Sundays
7) Go on a leaf walk
8) Stomp in the puddles with our rainboots
9) Go trick or treating
10) Roast pumpkin seeds
11) Carve jack 'o lanterns
12) Make apple pie and pumpkin pie
13) Visit the Folsom Zoo
14) Play at Royer Park with our cousins Ella and Abby when they come to visit in October
15) Put flannel sheets on everyone's bed
16) Update our netflix queue with some new flicks perfect for watching with popcorn and a cozy quilt
17) Visit the library to stock up on books- there's no better combo than reading and a rainy day
18) Enjoy all kinds of cool weather dinner dishes- chili, lasagna, yum!
19) Find the perfect broccoli cheddar soup recipe
20) Warm up with a few seasonal Starbucks beverages
What are you looking forward to this fall?
